You’ll never guess which car brands have the oldest models

Facelifts, updates, name changes and new models. Car brands are constantly renewing their model range and improving sales figures. But there are also models that have been in production for a very long time. These are the oldest models that you can still buy today.

The cars that are being produced now don’t have as long careers as some models used to. The Volkswagen Beetle thus became the longest-running model of all time and was delivered for 65 years.

Lada has the oldest models of all car brands

The English medium Motor1 has researched the oldest models of car brands that can still be bought today. Based on 705 models from 30 manufacturers, it can be said that Lada has the oldest models on average. The 4×4 drags the average down. This model has been manufactured since 1977. The Niva is only a year younger. The average model age of Ladas is 18.9 years.

Tesla has the oldest models of any EV manufacturer

While Lada may not be as flashy, you’ll probably be surprised by the car brand in second place: Tesla. The Model S has been in production since 2009 and ensures that the average age of the models is 7.8 years. With these figures, Elon Musk’s brand has the oldest model range of all electric car manufacturers on average.

Xpeng and Nio have the latest models of all car brands

On the other end of the spectrum are brands like Xpeng and Nio. Xpeng’s oldest model, the G3, dates back to 2018. The average age is only 2.6 years. The average age of the Nio models is also 2.6 years.
