This is the fastest Dutch car ever!

Donkervoort shows a new model: the F22. The brand new Lelystad Bolide is the fastest Dutch car ever.

You know Donkervoort as car enthusiasts of puristic, light and powerful cars that only focus on one thing: driving pleasure. For example the D8 GTO-JD70 that we drove a while back.

Donkervoort F22, end of an era

Although the new F22 is immediately recognizable as a Donkervoort, the brand closes the D8 era with the new model. The F22 is the first all-new model since Denis Donkervoort became Managing Director in January 2021.

So a fresh start, and to start off, Donkervoort builds the fastest Dutch car ever. The F22 again has Audi’s 2.5-liter five-cylinder on board, delivering 500 hp and 640 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear axle via a five-speed manual gearbox, where a Torsen limited-slip differential drives the rear wheels.

Donkervoort opts for a five-speed gearbox – with automatic speed adjustment – to save weight compared to a six- or seven-speed gearbox. That saves a total of 12 kilos. And in percentage terms, a significant weight saving considering that the Donkervoort F22 weighs only 750 kilograms.

The fastest Dutch car ever

With its light weight and remarkable performance, the model is the fastest Dutch car ever. The car sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 2.5 seconds. The 200 is knocked from a standstill after 7.5 seconds. The acceleration only stops at 290 kilometers per hour.

The interior of the F22 differs significantly from the D8. At the customer’s request, the car is larger and more practical – to what extent you want to use a Donkervoort for practical purposes. In the luggage compartment you can take 298 liters of things with you.

The sled is made of aluminum and carbon fiber. Overall, the car is more than 4 meters long, 1.9 wide and only 1.1 meters high. Despite the twin targa roof, the fastest Dutch car is twice as stiff as the D8 GTO. It must therefore steer even better than its predecessor.

The fastest Dutchman comes in a very limited edition

Donkervoort builds the F22 in a limited edition of 75. Originally the edition was supposed to be 50 copies. Since these were quickly sold out, another 25 cars will be built in Lelystad. The starting price is 245 grand. How much the fastest Dutch car costs including Dutch taxes is still unknown.
