This really is the very last Ford GT
Ford is launching another special version of the GT. This Mk IV is really the very last of the model range.
Ford announced last September that the GT would be the last model in the series in a special Heritage Edition. Here comes another circuit candy, though.
The very last Ford GT
Developed as a nod to the original 1967 Le Mans 24 Hours MK IV race car, the Ford GT Mk IV is also intended for track use only.
The special GT has a special body and is made entirely of carbon fiber. The front of the car is completely different from a normal GT. This is partly due to the LED headlights incorporated into the body and the distinctive air vents on the bonnet. At the rear you will find a gigantic spoiler and a mega diffuser that cover the GT appearance.
More than 800 hp
Under the hood is a tuned and rebored version of the biturbo V6 engine you know from the Ford GT. The power source now delivers 811 hp. This power is sent to the rear wheels via a “real racing gearbox”. Ford does not yet know exactly what this “racing gearbox” entails. The stroke volume of the special GT is also still unknown.
Ford GT Mk IV comes at a high price
Just like a normal GT, the Ford GT Mk IV cannot simply be ordered. The edition of the brutal track monster is limited to just 67 copies. The car is hand built at the Multimatic factory in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The GT is priced at a minimum of $1.7 million. Delivery will begin at the end of spring 2023. Customer selection will take place in the first quarter of 2023. Interested millionaires can apply here.
