Why you should buy an old Saab 900 when you are thirteen months old
The real estate market is cooling off and crypto coins are too risky, so what should you invest in? A classic car! Because these few cars will certainly increase in value in the coming year. And some are affordable too, like the Nissan 350Z and Saab 900.
Just a slap in the face: It is of course not certain that the cars below will increase in value, but insurer Hagerty estimates the chance to be very high. The company publishes a list of potential value adders each year.
Irrelevant for Europe and boring
It’s an American insurance company, so there are models on the list that nobody in Europe cares about, like the Hummer H1 and the AMC AMX.
Some selections are also a bit bland, because of course the rare Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is in the stratosphere. The thing is very expensive.
Nissan 350Z and Suzuki Cappuccino
More interesting are the affordable four-wheelers, like the Nissan 350Z and the Suzuki Cappuccino. The second is hard to find in the Netherlands. The small Japanese roadster was never officially delivered here, only via the gray import.
If you search for Nissan 350Z you will get more hits on used sites. The model was sold from 2003 to 2009 and was available in coupe and roadster versions with a delicious 3.5-liter V6 developing between 280 and 313 hp (depending on the model year).
Classic Saab 900 already in demand
The classic Saab 900, which traditionally has a large fan base in the Netherlands. Gaspedal.nl already shows that the stubborn Swede will increase in value. You pay 20,000 to 30,000 euros for a decent turbo, coupe or convertible.
The Saab 900 Turbo is available in several variants. You have the 145 hp turbo, the 155 hp intercooled turbo, and the popular (and therefore expensive) Turbo 16 and Turbo 16 S. The latter are good for 175 hp and a 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.5 seconds .
