Insulted and banned: Tesla drivers are bullied en masse
High-tech, green and fast. Tesla’s image may seem good at first. However, as the owner of one of the models, you can still become the target of traffic bullies.
Iowa Tesla drivers tell American news media Axios that they are routinely yelled at, cut off and blocked.
Tesla drivers are bullied
One of the biggest annoyances Tesla owners face is charging station lockdowns. The charging stations were not blocked because it was so crowded with electric vehicles that needed to charge their batteries. No, drivers of internal combustion engine cars stood in front of the charging stations in Iowa.
Several Tesla drivers tell the news site that they regularly face harassment and are often challenged to race. Not entirely illogical. After all, the brand’s CEO, Elon Musk, boasts about fast sprint times and pays close attention to it. Furthermore, all of Musk’s other excesses on social media do nothing to create peace around the brand.
No harassment in the Netherlands
Fortunately, although there is a problem with harassment and intimidation in America, at least in the state of Iowa, nothing of the sort is known in the Netherlands.
Autovisie has been on the road several times with various Teslas. For example, the entry-level version of the Model 3 stood in our long-term test garage for a few months.
Tesla Model 3 as endurance tester
This Model 3 doesn’t come from the Fremont, California factory, it’s built in China, and that includes a different battery. It is a so-called LFP battery, which has a lower energy density and is more sensitive to temperature fluctuations. “To count before the a load from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes, which is still very decent,” the test shows. In the video below, Dries van den Elzen tells what it’s like to own this car every day.
