Belgian government sells fire truck
The Dutch government is selling a large number of cars, but the Belgian government is also selling some of its vehicles, which have become state property through confiscation, among other things. The Federal Public Service Finance is offering a very special car this time: a fire truck.
The Belgian government sells vehicles a little differently than in the Netherlands. For example, the page shows the highest bid and the time remaining. Our southern neighbors also do not charge an additional percentage of the buyer’s premium or service costs.
Fire engine at the Belgian government
As with many other cars, it is unclear why the fire truck is up for sale with the Belgian government. In any case, the aerial work platform has a Belgian license plate.
Basically, the car – or rather truck – is a MAN L87. Under the hood is a 6.7-liter six-cylinder diesel engine with two valves per cylinder that delivers 206 kW (281) hp. The power source is connected to an automatic transmission.
According to the odometer, the engine has not yet had much experience. Since his first kilometers in 2006, he has covered just over 52,000 kilometers. The technical acceptance is still valid until January 11, 2023.
Not so on the street
The fire truck is located in Haren, Belgium. The auction ends on November 30th at 9 am. If you really want to buy it, it’s useful to know that you’re not allowed to drive around like this. Only emergency services are allowed to use flashing lights and sirens. Your car shouldn’t have blue lights even if it’s not plugged in. The original stickers must also be removed from the car before using the aerial work platform on public roads. If you leave the stickers on you are violating state trademark and copyright laws.
