Fired from Facebook or Twitter? Then Jaguar Land Rover wants you

One is dead, etc. Meta, Facebook’s parent company, and Twitter recently laid off thousands of employees. And Jaguar Land Rover sees this as a great opportunity to recruit talent.

JLR has 800 vacancies in the UK, Ireland, USA, India, China and Hungary. The British manufacturer is primarily looking for IT experts for the development of the “car of the future”.

Jaguar Land Rover loses money

Things are not going too well for Jaguar Land Rover. Interest in the new Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Land Rover Defender is great, but losses are piling up.

Jaguar in particular is a problem child. The brand hasn’t launched any truly new models in a number of years, putting its all-new XJ on hold at the last minute. Jaguar wants to go fully electric in three years.

And for that you need people. JLR is therefore looking for new employees with experience in autonomous driving, artificial intelligence, electrification, cloud software, data science and machine learning.

JLR has set itself ambitious goals. According to the manufacturer, the future models of the brand should be “the most digitally advanced cars of all time”.

Fired from Facebook and Twitter

In early November, Meta announced mass layoffs at the social media company. The company’s profits are under pressure and costs are high. More than 11,000 employees, about 13 percent of the total, will be laid off.

Twitter has been in chaos since Tesla CEO Elon Musk bought the company for $44 billion. Half of the workforce, around 3250 employees, had to go. Hundreds more have since quit their jobs out of dissatisfaction.
