Classic catches fire, collector Jay Leno suffers burns
Apparently, collecting cars is not without its risks. Jay Leno – best known as a former host of The Tonight Show – suffered severe burns when one of his classic films caught fire.
Leno was reportedly working in his garage last Sunday when one of his cars caught fire. The comedian was hospitalized with severe burns on the left side of his face.
Jay Leno is still in the burns hospital
Leno has confirmed that he was injured. He told entertainment magazine Variety: “I have bad burns from a gasoline fire. I’m fine. I can go back to work in a week or two.”
At the time of writing, 72-year-old Jay Leno is still hospitalized at the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles, where he is being treated for his injuries.
Host The Tonight Show and Jay Leno’s Garage
Leno hosted The Tonight Show from 1992 to 2014. He was succeeded by Conan O’Brien in 2009, but NBC fired him after a year. Leno then returned to his old seat.
He is known for his huge car collection. His Youtube channel Jay Lenos Garage has almost 3.5 million followers. Since 2015, he has hosted a show of the same name on CNBC, which just wrapped up its seventh season.
