How many Porsche Taycans have been produced so far?
The Porsche Taycan turns out to be a true success model from the Stuttgart brand. Production of the electric car started in September 2019. Now, around 3 years later, 100,000 units are rolling off the assembly line.
“We are very pleased to have reached this milestone in manufacturing history so quickly – despite the recent challenges of semiconductor shortages and the volatile Covid situation,” said Kevin Giek, Vice President Model Line Taycan.

The Porsche Taycan is best sold in the US, China and the UK/Ireland. Just over 1800 Taycans are registered in the Netherlands. The model range includes three body variants: the Taycan sports sedan, the Taycan Cross Turismo and the Taycan Sport Turismo.
Whichever body shape you choose, you always have a choice of five powertrains. There are both rear-wheel drive versions and Taycans with a motor on the front and rear axles. The Cross Turismo always has all-wheel drive.
Winter sports with the Taycan Cross Turismo
Autovisie took to the streets in February with one such Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. The 400 hp power plant is available for less than 100,000 euros. But can you also do winter sports with it?
We were able to try the basic version with a large battery and air suspension. No undercarriage tricks with all-wheel steering or active anti-roll bars. The result is a station wagon that drives naturally and actually has everything a Porsche driver’s heart desires. It accelerates to 100 km/h in just over five seconds, reacts lightning-fast to the accelerator pedal in Sport Plus driving mode and makes overtaking a formality. It also impresses with its clinically perfect control and composure in all surgical instruments.
“The most attractive model in the Taycan series in terms of looks, price, equipment and suitability for everyday use,” the test revealed. For winter sports, however, you have to come up with something different, says Peter Hilhorst in the video below.
