The Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato off-road supercar is really coming!
Lamborghini has often shown a concept model of the Huracán Sterrato, but now the Italians are actually announcing the off-roader. At the end of the year, during Art Basel in Miami, the curtain falls on the off-road version.
Lamborghini adds that the Sterrato will be the last Lamborghini with a single petrol engine. All subsequent models are electric or have some form of electric assist in the powertrain.
Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
Under the hood of the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato is a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine. You already know this engine from the normal Huracán. In the “normal” version, it delivers 610 hp and 560 Nm. The super sports car sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The top speed is 325 kilometers per hour. It is questionable whether the off-road outfit will also succeed. After all, there are off-road tires underneath, there are roof racks on the roof and the nose is decorated with LED lights.
In addition to the off-road glory, the Lamborghini is also really capable off-road. At least the study model, of which some specifications are known. The ground clearance has been increased by 47 mm. This increases the lead angle by 6.5 percent.
The wheels of the study are three centimeters further apart than on the normal Lamborghini Huracán. This is also necessary because large 20-inch wheels are screwed under the super sports cars.
Off-road with Gallardo
Although it will be Lamborghini’s first off-road supercar, Autovisie drove like a Gallardo converted to an SUV by a Dutchman. This one also has a lovely 5.0-litre V10 which, according to test editor Peter Hilhorst, “sounds like the hoarse roar of a pained animal being blown out unmuffled”. In the video below he guides you through the mud.
