Government is auctioning car Sywert van Lienden and he is not amused

The Dutch government is putting Sywert van Lienden’s car up for sale, and so is he not amused. In itself not entirely incomprehensible.

See the Domain Movable Affairs website for impounded cars. For whatever reason. By far the largest part of this fleet is not really worth seeing, but every now and then you can find a unique specimen, such as this BMW Z4 M40i.

Dutch government auctions BMW Z4 M40i

The BMW Z4 M40i in question has an estimated value of around 85,000 euros. Sywert van Lienden bought the car in October 2020, a few months after the mouthguard deal.

Sywert van Lienden’s former BMW Z4 M40i has a V6 engine with an output of 340 hp and only 8,197 kilometers on the clock. You can sprint to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.5 seconds and the top speed is 250 kilometers per hour. Tender information can be found on the Dutch government website.

Sywert van Lienden dissatisfied with car sale

On Twitter, Sywert van Lienden expressed his dissatisfaction with the Dutch government’s actions. “Welcome to the rule of law: don’t hear/interrogate anyone, don’t provide documents to the defense, don’t enter into discussions, don’t make a prosecution decision, deal with false information, prepare false official reports, but in the meantime auction your property”, so the much-discussed entrepreneur.

He later also responded to SBS, which wrote about scratches on an angry neighbor’s car. “Dear SBS tug of war. Due to paralysis, I can no longer drive a car. In short, it leaves me cold. Hope for a good yield. Thank you for drawing attention to this auction,” said Sywert van Lienden on Twitter. Of course, the mouth cap deal is unjustifiable, but a smear campaign like the one going on these days is just as painful to watch.
