The MG Cyberster debuts in less than a year

Much has been written and leaked about the MG Cyberster. It is now known that the electric roadster will be presented in less than a year.

In 2019, SAIC Motors, MG’s Chinese parent company, told Autovisie they were working on an electric roadster. A year later, the company showed the first sketches, followed by 3D renderings.

MG Cyberster on the market by 2024

According to AutoCar’s UK colleagues, MG planned to pull the curtain on the Cyberster this month. This would happen at the Guangzhou Motor Show. However, this event is canceled due to the corona changes in China.

The MG Cyberster is now reportedly set to be unveiled in April 2023. The electric roadster is scheduled to hit the streets in 2024.

The MG Cyberster is to be an affordable electric roadster that has to sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in less than 3 seconds. The range would be around 800 kilometers. What the exact specifications of the model will look like is not yet known. However, we can already identify clear competitors.

More electric roadsters on the way

Polestar is working hard on the “6”, although it’s a little less roadster than the MG Cyberster. The Polestar has a small rear seat. We already know more about the specifications of the Swedish-Chinese convertible. The EV has two motors that together are good for 884 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The zero to one hundred sprint is devoured in 3.2 seconds, the top speed is 250 kilometers per hour.

In addition to MG Cyberster and Polestar 6, Tesla is of course also working on the new Roadster. Tesla boss Elon Musk promises extreme sprint times and a range of more than 1000 kilometers for the Roadster. The American electric roadster is scheduled to hit the market in 2023. Although Tesla often suffers from late deliveries.
