Skoda Epiq: new electric car for just 25,000 euros

Skoda Epiq: new electric car for just 25,000 euros

Slowly but surely more electric cars are appearing at a manageable price. The Czechs also have an affordable electric vehicle in the starting blocks: the Skoda Epiq.

It was of course to be expected that Skoda would bring such a model onto the market. Volkswagen had previously presented the ID.2, which is based on the new MEB entry platform. In order to get the greatest possible benefit from this platform developed specifically for electric cars, it is only logical that Skoda also sources this platform from the Volkswagen warehouse.

Range of the Skoda Epiq

Just like the ID.2, the new Skoda EV will also come onto the market for around 25,000 euros. At 4.10 meters, the Epiq is 5 centimeters longer than the ID.2 and this is also reflected in the trunk, which holds 490 liters despite its compact size. Space is also of utmost importance with this electric car from Skoda.

The brand promises a range of more than 400 kilometers. This is comparable to the ID.2 and the recently introduced Renault 5, which will also be available from 25 grand. Small side note: For this price you get the entry-level car from Renault, which only has a range of 300 kilometers. So don’t expect to buy 400 kilometers of range for the Skoda Epiq and Volkswagen ID.2 for 25,000 euros.

Features of the new electric car

The press release is packed with flowery marketing copy about the “harmonious balance between intelligent functionality and practicality” and how this digital study model “combines robustness, functionality and authenticity” and “perfectly embodies” Skoda’s new design language.

Specifically, it can be deduced from this that the brand relies on physical buttons in the interior, bi-directional charging is possible and the smartphone can act as a key. In addition, the nose bears the new Skoda emblem and the black “radiator grille” houses camera and radar systems.

New electric vehicle on the market from 2025

In addition, we see T-shaped LED lighting that distracts your attention from the daytime running lights hidden a little deeper. The light units are also equipped with matrix technology. It is currently still a study model. For the good business We have to be patient until 2025.
