Oof! Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer is 10,000 euros more expensive than Passat
The price of the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer is known and it is proud: 58,990 euros. Although the comparison with the Passat is not entirely correct, we have to admit.
“Volkswagen presents the new ID.7 Tourer […] competitive on the market,” writes the importer. Well, that’s a difficult statement to judge. We could include the €52,000 Nio ET5 Touring, but it’s smaller.
Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer 5 meters
The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer is a big boy at just under 5 meters long. The Nio comes in at 4.8 meters. In this respect, the ID.7 goes more in the direction of the BMW i5 Touring.
Because there aren’t that many electric station wagons yet. In the more compact segment there is now the MG5 Electric, the Opel Astra Electric and the Peugeot e-308. And above that, of course, is the Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo.
Only 1000 euros more expensive
In any case, the ID.7 Tourer is available from 58,990 euros and is therefore only 1,000 euros more expensive than the regular ID.7. The tourer always has a 77 kWh battery and a range of up to 607 kilometers.
Volkswagen is equipping the ID.7 Tourer with a 286 hp electric motor on the rear axle. There is space for between 605 and 1714 liters of luggage in the rear. Fast charging is possible with a maximum of 175 kW.
Volkswagen Passat variant
The Volkswagen Passat, which is only available as a variant, costs “only” 48,990 euros, but it is a 1.5 eTSI version with mild hybrid technology that only produces 150 hp.
In order to match the performance of the ID.7 Tourer, you have to order the 1.5 eHybrid with 272 hp, which can be found in the price list for 54,990 euros.
This makes it 4,000 euros cheaper than the ID.7 Tourer, but the latter has the advantage (at least until 2026) of an MRB exemption, a lower additional tax and the fact that it does not have to fill up with expensive gasoline. .
