These two new Chinese brands from BYD are coming to Europe

BYD is one of the largest electric car manufacturers in the world. Build Your Dreams cars are now also for sale in the Netherlands. For Europe, however, it doesn’t just stay with the brand of the manufacturer of the same name.

BYD has several brands in its portfolio. Last year we introduced you to the brand new Fang Cheng Bao. Two more brands are now coming to our continent.

Chinese brands BYD to Europe

BYD’s brands coming to Europe are YangWang and Denza. We start with YangWang. You may know the brand from the U8 and U7. YangWang is considered a luxury brand under BYD, but is also working on an affordable crossover. The manufacturer told Autovisie last summer that it was considering supplying YangWang in the Netherlands. Although the brand is now being introduced in Europe, it is not yet certain whether Dutch people will be able to shop at a YangWang dealer (or at Louwman for a YangWang) soon. BYD tells Autovisie that it is still unclear when YangWang will come to Europe. At first interest seems to be waning.

The second brand coming to Europe is Denza. The brand is the result of a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and BYD and currently produces an MPV called the D9. It is a notable decision to bring the brand to Europe as MPVs are not popular here and more SUVs are sold and produced. BYD has announced that Denza will definitely come to Europe and will also be sold in the Netherlands. It is still unclear when we will see Denza on the streets in our country.

Hybrid and electric

The YangWang U8 always has a hybrid drive and the D9 is available as a hybrid and electric vehicle. It remains to be seen whether BYD models will also be offered as hybrids on our continent.
