The new Cupra Born VZ gets two pepperoni from us
On a menu, the Cupra Born would be marked with a pepper. Hot for some people, but actually too cowardly. This newborn VZ gets two peppers from us, not three.
A Cupra Born is quite fast with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h between 6.6 and 7.3 seconds, depending on the version. But this also applies to all other electric cars.
New top version Cupra Born
There is little that really makes the Born the sporty equivalent of the VW ID.3. For this reason, Cupra is pleased to add the Born VZ, a powerful top version, to its range.
VZ for “veloz”
VZ stands for “veloz” (“fast” in Spanish). And in a sense, the 326 hp and 545 Nm Born is that too. It accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, but is overtaken by every leased Golf at 200 km/h on public roads.
You don’t want to reach the maximum limit with an electric car, otherwise you’ll find yourself standing still on the side of the road after half an hour.
Impressive range
With a little restraint, a range of 570 kilometers should be possible with the Born VZ’s 79 kWh battery. The smaller Borns (Bornen?) are equipped with a 58 or 77 kWh battery, which allows them to travel between 421 and 550 kilometers.
Sports suspension
According to Cupra, the Born VZ is equipped with a sports suspension, more direct steering and should offer more feel in the brake pedal. The VZ is the first Born model to have a new 12.9-inch infotainment screen on board.
