Finally! The Volkswagen ID.7 version everyone is waiting for

In fact, only a few Dutch people are waiting for the Volkswagen ID.7. Why? Because there is a much more interesting variant on the way: the ID.7 Tourer.

The Volkswagen importer estimates that only twenty percent of ID.7 customers will choose the sedan (actually a liftback). More than eighty percent choose this tourer.

Logical, because the sedan is more or less sold out in the traditional D segment (the public wants crossovers and SUVs). Only the broadcasters are still keeping sales figures at somewhat the same level.

The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer is just as big as the sedan, with an impressive length of 4.96 meters, a wheelbase of 2.97 meters, but of course a much more spacious trunk.

There is space for 605 liters of luggage as standard (plus 73 liters compared to the ID.7). By folding down the rear seats it is 1714 liters (plus 128 liters compared to the ID.7).

Maximum 685 kilometers

The ID.7 Tourer has a 286 hp and 545 Nm electric motor on the rear axle, which is coupled with an 82 kWh battery (77 kWh net). A Pro S version with 91 kWh (86 kWh net) will be added later.

Official figures are not yet known, but it is estimated that it can travel a maximum of 685 kilometers with a full battery. It can also do 200kW DC fast charging.

The 82 kWh battery version has a capacity of 175 kW, meaning it can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent charge in about 28 minutes.

Artificial intelligence

The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer has 19-inch wheels (20 and 21 inches are optional). The model can also be equipped with LED matrix headlights, a glass roof with smart glass (darkenable) and ChatGPT technology in the infotainment system.

Volkswagen is the first manufacturer to make interaction using voice commands more natural. To reassure worried customers, the brand reports that the AI ​​does not have access to vehicle data and questions and answers are immediately deleted.
