The new Aston Martin Vantage wants to see your racing license

The new Aston Martin Vantage doesn’t want its ignition keys falling into the hands of every Joe in a hat. It’s only for “real drivers,” we read. So let’s see, the racing license!

Well, an advanced driving course certainly doesn’t seem like an unnecessary luxury to us. According to Aston Martin, the new Vantage has become a real hooligan, with a lot more power.

Aston Martin Vantage with V8

The Aston Martin Vantage once again features a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 from Mercedes-AMG. The block used to produce 510 hp and 685 Nm, now it has a whopping 665 hp and 800 Nm.

The effect of increasing power and torque is small. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h increases from 3.6 to 3.4 seconds and the top speed increases by 11 km/h to 325 km/h.

Aston Martin has been using an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF in its models for years and still does today. The Vantage has rear-wheel drive and an electronic lock on the rear axle.

Extensive update

By the way, Aston Martin calls the Vantage new, but it is actually a comprehensive update of the generation that has been on the market since 2018 and that is clearly visible.

The Vantage is of course very similar to its predecessor, but has a significantly different front, with significantly larger, rounder headlights. The rear remained largely the same.

Interior completely redesigned

Almost nothing in the interior has remained the same. The dashboard closely resembles that of the DB12, which is actually a thoroughly redesigned DB11, with a digital cockpit in front of the driver and an improved infotainment system on the center console.
