This new electric car is a mini EV that costs 7,630 euros
An electric car for less than 8,000 euros? Yes, although a car might be a bit expensive. We’re talking about the Yue 01. A mini electric vehicle at a mini price.
The Yue 01 is a creation of Electric House, a subsidiary brand of the relatively young SiTech. As the name suggests, this is a Chinese car, although its predecessor, the Young Guangxiaoxin, was even more impressive.
Electric car for 7,630 euros
Depending on the version, the EV costs between 7,630 euros and 8,400 euros. Well, euros? This is the converted price at the current exchange rate. The electric car is for sale in China for this price, but you won’t find it so easily in Europe. Fully-fledged electric vehicles that meet European (safety) requirements simply cannot be produced for so little money.
The Yue 01 is therefore aimed at Chinese young people who are looking for an electric car. Although we will probably never see the model in our country, we are still excited to see what the sub-eight grand car has to offer.
Mini EV with space for four people
There is definitely seating for four people, although with a length of 3.75 meters, a width of 1.65 meters and a height of 1.55 meters it will be tight. The interior of the electric car looks very Chinese and, especially in this color scheme, reminds us of the Chinese Zeekr X that we recently drove.
The Mini-EV is available in various versions, with only the entry-level model featuring fabric upholstery instead of artificial leather. On board the electric car you will also find a wireless phone charger, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch instrument panel.
Disappointing top speed
There is an electric motor in the nose that sends a modest 48 hp and 125 Nm of torque to the front wheels, regardless of the version. There are two battery packs available, each with their own range. The entry-level model has a 24 kWh battery with a claimed range of 251 kilometers, while the 32 kWh variant has a range of 335 kilometers on a single charge. According to the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, another version with a range of more than 400 kilometers is on the way.
If it’s traveling in a Yue 01, it will take a while. According to the manufacturer, the top speed of the electric car is only 100 km/h. Then you might as well get into an L7e vehicle like this Microlino. Also a mini EV but available in Europe. The difference is that the Microlino easily costs three times as much.
