Hyundai believes in hydrogen, the new Nexo will come sooner than you think
Very few cars and other vehicles run on hydrogen anymore. However, some manufacturers are not yet excluding the fuel. In fact, Hyundai is launching a new generation of the Nexo.
Toyota also announced in November last year that it would bring a new hydrogen car onto the market. Will there even be an alternative to the plug-in car?
The new Hyundai Nexo
For the time being, hydrogen does not seem to be a solution for the majority of cars. But a new Hyundai Nexo is on the way. During the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the brand announced that the new Nexo will be launched in 2025. In addition to cars, Hyundai also wants to produce hydrogen-powered trucks, ships and trams.
Hydrogen production
Hyundai also wants to contribute to the production of hydrogen. The Korean brand wants to produce biogas from waste. With this Waste to Hydrogen (W2H) Organic waste such as food, sludge and animal manure are fermented into biogas. This biogas can be used to produce hydrogen.
Hyundai also wants to convert plastic waste into hydrogen. bee Plastic-to-Hydrogen (P2H) Plastic waste that cannot be recycled is melted. The gas released can be used to produce hydrogen.
Hyundai has not yet announced any further details about the new Nexo. If you want to stay up to date with the latest auto news, subscribe to the free Autovisie newsletter.
