Dive into the price list: Microlino – how much does the small car cost?

Is the small car experiencing a revival after its popularity in the 1950s? In any case, more and more models are coming onto the Dutch market. One of the most beautiful models is the Microlino. We look at the price list and put it together.

Several brands claim to have reinvented urban mobility and are introducing small electric carts that are intended to be an alternative to a full-fledged car. Time will tell if they are right. In any case, some of these so-called small cars are a real eye-catcher. The Microlino for example. We’ve already written enough about it and included it in our big microcar test. Now let’s take a look at the price list and look at all the equipment and put it together according to your wishes.

Microlino specifications

We list the most important specifications of the Microlino. It is a two-person car with a length of about 2.5 meters and a width and height of about 1.5 meters. There should still be space for 230 liters of luggage, comparable to an A-segment car. Depending on the battery chosen, the Microlino only weighs 496 to 530 kg.

The drive is provided by a 12.5 kW (17 hp) and 89 Nm electric motor, which accelerates the Microlino to 50 km/h in 5 seconds. The top speed is 90 km/h, so you can also drive it on the highway. Depending on the battery chosen (6, 10.5 or 14 kWh), the WLTP range is 95, 175 or 230 km. Since the Microlino is mainly used in the city, you could come close to this in practice.

Prices and versions Microlino

The prices of the Microlino are high. It starts at 17,990 euros for the entry-level Urban model, followed by the Dolce with a starting price of 19,990 euros and the top model Competizione from 21,990 euros. Prices at which you can also buy a car in the A segment or even a young used car in the B segment.

Microlino equipment

Let’s be honest: for such a small car, the Microlino can be described as luxurious. As standard, you have a soft-close door, heating, clear displays for the instruments and infotainment as well as full LED lighting. There is also a sport driving mode. The Dolce features a two-tone body, full-width LED lighting, a sunroof and a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel. Above all, the Competizione offers additional decoration options, including matt body colors. We choose the Dolce. It offers just a few more nice decoration options than the Urban, while the Competizione only offers a few extras for the extra cost.

Outdoor decoration

First the colors. The Microlino is completely white as standard. The car is available completely in Amsterdam Orange or Milano Red for 390 euros. The two-tone versions are available for 790 euros, optionally in red, bright blue and mint green, always in combination with a white roof. We choose red with white. The hubcaps are black as standard (like the Urban), but you can get them in white for 190 euros. That’s what we do.

Interior decoration

The interior is upholstered in gray fabric, and some individual interior elements are made of vegan faux leather. You can also opt for the premium interior for 590 euros. The sofa is also upholstered in black faux leather and you can find suede on the dashboard. That’s what we do.

Packages and individual options

There is only one item on the options list: the Premium package. For 250 euros you get an integrated portable Bluetooth speaker, additional storage space in the interior and a smartphone holder. We leave the package for a while.

A final option is the battery. With the Dolce you can travel 91 km as standard. If you want the medium-sized battery (177 km), it costs an additional 2,000 euros. If you want to travel 230 km, it costs 3,500 euros. We choose the medium-sized battery. It offers a much more practical range than the standard battery, but is also expensive enough.

Assemble the Microlino yourself

The total price for our Microlino was 23,560 euros. Fortunately, we chose a device combination that was immediately available. According to the configurator, you have to wait until the second quarter of 2024 for the Urban or the larger or smaller battery. We’re wondering if it wouldn’t be better to choose a nice A-segment car for those 20-plus grand. For this amount you can find more than enough electric cars on the used car market. On the other hand, if you live on a really narrow street in the city center and/or want to make a fashion statement, then the Microlino is interesting.

What would you do? Do you opt for the trendy Microlino or would you rather opt for a full-fledged car (used or not) for these amounts? And if you choose the Microlino, how would you assemble it? View the options in the configurator at www.microlino-car.com/nl.
