This electric vehicle from a traditional brand is suddenly thousands of euros cheaper

Looking for an affordable electric car? Then the Cupra Born could be interesting now. Cupra suddenly reduces the price of the electric vehicle by thousands of euros. This means it is now significantly cheaper than the Volkswagen ID.3.

Electric cars from the Volkswagen Group are not yet being bought as widely as the manufacturer had undoubtedly hoped. Among other things, the production lines for the Volkswagen ID.3 were temporarily shut down several times last year. Now it is the Cupra Born that is once again being put in the shop window with a large discount sign.

Electric vehicle cheaper than Volkswagen ID.3 due to the discount

Previously, the electric car was available from just under 40,000 euros. The brand is now offering the Born with a discount of around 3,000 euros. You can buy the EV from 36,940 euros. This suddenly makes it significantly cheaper than the Volkswagen ID.3, for which you pay at least 42,690 euros. The Born’s rental price drops to 438 euros per month.

A good start to 2024. Especially because Dutch electric car buyers (unlike Germans) can also claim a subsidy of 2,950 euros when buying an electric car next year. So you only have to pay 33,990 out of pocket.

SEPP for the Cupra Born Performance variant

The entry-level model comes with a 58 kWh battery, has 204 hp and a range of 425 kilometers. The Cupra Born Essential with a 58 kWh battery is now also available for around 2,000 euros more. The range is the same, but you get a more powerful electric motor that produces 231 hp.

The performance variant, whose new price fell by 4,000 euros a few months ago, has now fallen by a further 1,000 euros to 45,990 euros. The tax value will be less than 45,000 euros because, according to the brand, this version of the Cupra Born is now also eligible for the EV subsidy of almost 3,000 euros.
