Car sales? 3 tips to get more money for your used car
Most people who sell their car have it cleaned quickly. But if you put a little more effort into it, you can quickly get a lot more money for your used car.
That’s what professional car cleaner Larry Kosilla says. In 2012, he founded his YouTube channel AMMO NYC, where he now has more than 2.2 million followers trying to learn his cleaning techniques.
3 tips to make your used car shine
In a recent video he takes care of an Acura NSX. Although the JDM legend seems very neat at first glance, Kosilla believes that there are still many ways to take the appearance to an even higher level.
These are valuable tips for people who are selling their car soon and want to get the most out of the used car. Kosilla advises you to focus on often forgotten parts such as the brake calipers, wheel arches and the inside of the wheels.
1. Wash the base with a pressure washer
First, Kosilla removes the wheels from the Acura NSX and then washes the chassis and wheel arches with foam and a high-pressure sprayer.
“First, check the condition of the material. For example, look whether you see rust, torn covers or a lot of grease,” says the professional cleaner. “Whether you address the issue is up to you, but you still need to report it to sales.”
2. Clean the wheels and brake calipers of your used car
Clothes make the man, wheels make the car. A set of shiny slippers works wonders. “Clean both the wheels and the calipers thoroughly with a brush and cloth. It’s cheap and easy, but extremely important to the bigger picture,” says Larry Kosilla.
3. Clean the car better than ever
Then it’s time to polish your used car. Do not go to the car wash, do it yourself with extreme precision. “When cleaning, use multiple microfiber cloths to avoid going over the car with dirty cloths.” Kosilla also recommends using a brush to finish all seams and emblems.
Once the cleaner has penetrated every corner of his Acura NSX, he dries it with an air spray. If the car is completely dry and you don’t feel like polishing the used car or spending more money, you can now take photos and sell the car.
