The price of the new Volkswagen Passat

The new Volkswagen Passat has a starting price of just under 49 grand in the Netherlands. For comparison: the previous generation was on the price list for just over 42 grand.

This basic version, which costs exactly 48,990 euros, has a 150 hp mild hybrid drive and a seven-speed DSG. Volkswagen calls the version of this base Passat the “Passat,” very creatively.

The higher equipment levels are called Business, Elegance Business and R-Line Business. It is clear that Volkswagen wants to continue to appeal to the “businessman” with the station. However, in the Netherlands this market is mainly served by electric cars.

Electric for your work

The Volkswagen Passat can also cover long distances electrically. Anyone who chooses the 204 or 272 hp plug-in hybrid can drive up to 100 kilometers purely electrically. This drivetrain also basically consists of a 1.5-liter four-cylinder. The DSG of the plug-ins has not seven, but six gears.

From 49,990 euros you can commute to work electrically with the 204 hp Volkswagen Passat. The most powerful variant is available from 54,990 euros.
