Dutch government sells Mercedes-AMG SLS
Every year the government confiscates cars for many reasons. These used and old company vehicles are then sold by the Ministry of Finance. Autovisie shows exactly how this works in this report. This time a special car is for sale: a Mercedes-AMG SLS.
You can bid on the car on the government website. If you bid the highest amount, you can pick up the car. This amount is not the amount you will ultimately have to pay for your new car. A buyer’s premium of 15 percent will be added to your bid.
Mercedes AMG SLS
The Mercedes-AMG SLS was produced from 2010 to 2015. The government used car is not an exciting Black Series, but a “standard” SLS. Still a wonderful roadster!
Under the hood is the M159 engine from Mercedes-Benz. The V8 with a displacement of 6.2 liters produces 571 hp at 6,800 rpm. The maximum torque is 650 Nm and is achieved at 4,750 revolutions per minute.
With this power, the roadster, which weighs over 1,600 kilograms, sprints from a standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds. The party only stops when the limiter kicks in at 317 kilometers per hour.
occasion with the government
In the Netherlands you can buy a Mercedes-AMG SLS as a used car for just under 180,000 euros. For that money you get a 2012 model with less than 60,000 kilometers of experience. The government SLS also comes from the same year, but has a few thousand kilometers more on the clock. The car was imported to the Netherlands in 2019.
The state-owned used car looks good at first glance, but the advertisement does not show any maintenance records. Buying the AMG therefore involves a risk of probably more than 100,000 euros. Who dares to do that?
