This is what you need to hear: Mazda RX-7 sets the pace for a new rap song
Baby got bra, is the title of rapper T-Pain’s latest song. Why does Autovisie tell you this? Well, an icon from the JDM world takes center stage: the Mazda RX-7.
The Japanese is known for its rotary engine. Brap, brap brap, sounds the Wankel engine (which has returned in a different form) as it idle. Rapper T-Pain heard a beat in it and wrote a song about the Mazda. He did this together with the influencer Hert, who became known through the car platform Hoonigan.
Mazda RX-7 in the lead role
The Japanese sports coupe plays a prominent role in the video clip. The text is littered with references to the Mazda RX-7 and the tuning culture surrounding it. Rap may not be for everyone, but it’s different than bragging about Lamborghinis and Ferraris. Refreshing!
For the video clip, T-Pain and Hert gathered a bunch of souped-up RX-7s. The ode to the familiar rumble of the Wankel engine is somewhat striking, as Hert’s Mazda RX-7 itself has a V8 under the hood.
Reactions to T-Pain and Hert’s song
“This is so good,” said professional drifter Adam Lizotte-Zeisler, better known as AdamLZ. “It’s great to see automotive culture reaching new dimensions and heights. I never thought T-Pain would do a song like this, let alone with the sound of a rotary engine on the beat. Now I want some brap too,” writes StanceWorks (a well-known tuning platform) under the video.
