Why you will mainly encounter this Pininfarina in Heerenveen

What are we talking about? The Pininfarina Battista perhaps? Or a new Ferrari or Lancia? No, the Italian design house has dared to create a Zamboni.

Is this an unknown Italian supercar? No, far from it. A Zamboni moves more or less no faster than walking pace and is only found where there is a thick layer of ice.

Brand name and product name

We don’t mean the North or South Pole, but the Thialf Stadium in Heerenveen. A Zamboni is an ice wiping machine designed to make and keep an ice rink nice and smooth.

By the way, don’t think that such a device is always called Zamboni. Just like Jeep, Botox, Aspirin, Frisbee and Jacuzzi, Zamboni is a brand name that has become a product name.

Very slow Pininfarina

The Zimbona ZX5 didn’t have much to offer for Pininfarina, as the machine is nothing more than a box on wheels. One with electric drive, with two motors and 27 hp.
