Dive into the price list: The updated Hyundai i20, this is the price of the smart hatchback model

The Hyundai i20 has undergone a facelift. You have to look for the differences, but for us it is still a reason to familiarize yourself with one more look at the price list.

The current, third model generation of the Hyundai i20 came onto the market in 2020. This year the car underwent a facelift. The changes aren’t big, but with new LED light units, among other things, he looks at the world from a new perspective.

Standard equipment Hyundai i20

Let’s start with a selection of the Hyundai i20’s standard equipment: 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, fabric upholstery, analog meters behind the steering wheel, 8-inch multimedia screen (Bluetooth with voice control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), cruise control, halogen lighting, High beam assistant, rear parking sensors, reversing camera with guide lines and the “basic package” of assistance and safety systems.

Hyundai i20 engines

No changes in the motor area. This means a 62 kW (81 hp) 1.2-liter four-cylinder as the base engine and a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with mild hybrid technology and an output of 74 kW (100 hp). The 1.2-litre is always manual (five speeds), the 1.0 has six speeds and you can also opt for a seven-speed automatic transmission. The three-cylinder accelerates the Hyundai i20 to 100 km/h in 13.1 seconds, the three-cylinder requires 10.4 seconds (automatic is a fraction slower).

Prices Hyundai i20

The new starting price of the Hyundai i20 has been increased slightly to 22,795 euros. Unfortunately, this is now a completely normal entry-level price in this segment. You pay at least 25,595 euros for the mild hybrid, even though it is one equipment level higher. The automatic has a starting price of 27,695 euros, which is partly due to the higher BPM of this model.

Which Hyundai i20 do you choose?

Now, which version of the Hyundai i20 do you choose? We decide to invest in the mild hybrid, which offers more power and lower consumption than the four-cylinder. However, we stick with the standard comfort level (for this model) and the manual transmission.

We are also now expanding the standard equipment to include 16-inch alloy wheels, rear brake discs (instead of drum brakes), LED daytime running lights and high beams, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a leather-look steering wheel and gearshift lever, a USB-C -Connection and additional storage compartments in the rear as well as an additional driver assistance system that helps prevent collisions with vehicles in the blind spot.

Outdoor decoration

Hyundai offers a whole range of body colors for the i20. Nice, we sometimes see things differently. The standard color is boring white, which can be combined with a black roof for an additional charge of 195 euros. The striking green presentation color of the facelift model, a new color, costs 695 euros extra.

For an additional charge of 795 euros you can really let off steam. You can then choose between green with a black roof or an all-black body, a shade of gray, a kind of mint green, a gray-blue, dark blue or red. For an additional charge of 100 euros, these colors can also be combined with a black roof. So lots of choice. We choose red with a black roof. There are no other wheel options for the selected equipment level.

Interior decoration

There is no choice for the selected equipment level: the black fabric upholstery remains standard and the only option.

Separate options Hyundai i20

There are actually no separate options when it comes to equipment, make your choice by checking a trim level. There are also accessories, protective coatings, protective mats, a trailer hitch, etc.

Among all these options, you suddenly find the possibility of choosing leather upholstery in the N-Style design. Costs 1,849 euros. For 309 euros you can add a center armrest with a storage compartment to the interior. For an additional charge of 636 to 1,316 euros, you can equip the car with an additional set of (winter) rims and then have an even greater choice of rims in 15 to 17 inches. We decide not to check anything for our Hyundai i20.

Assemble the Hyundai i20 yourself

By ultimately choosing a different body color, we limit the price of the Hyundai i20 to 26,490 euros. Then, with a relatively small additional price compared to the absolute basic model, we still put together a reasonably fully equipped car with an attractive (color) version.
