The Porsche 911 Carrera T is the twenty-fifth (!) 911 variant
Well, you can still do that! This is the Porsche 911 Carrera T, the twenty-fifth 911 variant in the current Porsche price list. We won’t list them all here, but in short you have various Carreras, Targas, GTS, Turbos, GT3s and more.
Porsche calls the new Carrera T a lightweight version. It is positioned between the 911 Carrera and Carrera S (because there was still so much space there) and uses the basic engine: a biturbo six-cylinder boxer with 385 hp and 450 Nm. He has no rear seats, less soundproofing and thus saves 35 kilos compared to the 911 Carrera. That means he weighs 1470 kilos.
Porsche Carrera T also with manual transmission
The 911 Carrera can only be ordered with an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. A manual gearbox is also available for the Carrera T. In combination with this, the model sprints to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. This cannot be a PDK number, because Porsche specifies a faster 0-100 km/h time for the “normal” Carrera: 4.2 seconds.
Standard with differential lock and adaptive chassis
The Porsche 911 Carrera T comes standard with a number of Carrera S goodies, such as Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical lock, the Sport Chrono Package and an adaptive chassis.
There are also options that you have to pay extra for. Most notable is the rear axle steering, in which the rear wheels countersteer at low speeds and steer at high speeds.
Few exterior colors or you’ll have to go Paint to Sample
Do you recognize the Carrera T? Yes, on its 20-inch Carrera S wheels in titanium grey, the subtle badge on the rear and the stripes above the doors. You can hear that too, because a sports exhaust is standard on the T. As far as the exterior color is concerned, you as a buyer have little choice. There are only eight standard colors, four of which are metallic. Of course you can pull the wallet for a special Paint to Sample shade.
