Why you need a strong back for this Kia EV3

Why you need a strong back for this Kia EV3

Kia introduces one electric car after another and achieves one sales success after another in the Netherlands. This compact Kia EV3 could also do well in the Netherlands.

The Kia EV3 is officially still a study model and you can see that in the interior, which is not yet quite ready for series production. And to come back to the strong back from the beginning: you need it at the back.

Kia EV3 can charge scooters

Kia came up with something fun. It is possible to fold up the rear seat cushion. This creates space for an electric bike or an e-scooter, which can even be charged in the car.

Nice idea, but have Kia’s designers ever tried lifting an electric bike or e-scooter? These things are really heavy. This is the cause of an inguinal hernia.

Mushrooms and mushrooms

It is also worth noting that the Kia EV3 has materials in the interior that are not manufactured, but rather grown. Kia uses mycelium for this. To put it simply, these are the roots of a mushroom or mushroom.

Kia says the material can be cast into any shape by growing it in a mold. By the way, it will be some time before mycelium can be found in production cars.

As big as a Kia Niro

In appearance, the Kia EV3 closely resembles the larger EV5 and EV9. Its dimensions correspond to those of the Kia Niro. And that’s good news for the importer in the Netherlands, because the Niro is a bestseller here.

Maximum loading speed

The EV3 is currently the smallest electric vehicle on Hyundai Motor Group’s well-known E-GMP platform. It appears that it won’t get the 800-volt system of the EV6 and EV9, but will have to make do with 400 volts.

What this means for the maximum loading speed is not known. The EV6 and EV9 can reach 240kW of power with the right fast charger. Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and 6 are slightly behind with 220 kW.
