Discount! Opel grants “EV subsidy” for Corsa-e and Mokka-e
You can look at your watch all day, but that EV subsidy pot is no less empty. It will not be filled again with government millions until the beginning of January. If you don’t want to wait, you might want to visit an Opel dealer. There you will receive a discount of 2950 euros on the Corsa-e and Mokka-e until the end of the year.
Why 2950 euros? Because that is the funding amount for 2023. Last year you could still get 4000 euros if you bought a new electric car, this year 3350 euros were left over. However, as there was more budget, more people than ever before could take advantage of it.
Already 2950 Euro ‘state subsidy’
In any case, Opel decided to give a 2950 euro discount on the Corsa-e and Mokka-e in advance to fill the pot. “The days are getting shorter,” writes the brand, “temperatures are dropping and autumn is quickly turning into winter.”
Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e in winter
How important this introduction is can be read in the following sentence: “The 100% electric and emission-free Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e also offer maximum efficiency in the cold season.” And that’s not true, we can tell you as the owner of a technically equal Peugeot e-2008 say.
Officially, the Opel Mokka-e has a range of 338 kilometers, but in the cool winter months it is a maximum of 220 kilometers. That’s not Opel’s (or Peugeot’s) fault. All electric cars don’t like the cold. And you have to take that into account.
More range for electric Opel
With one battery charge, the Opel Corsa-e can travel around 20 kilometers: 359 kilometers. If you want more range, you have to be patient. The Corsa-e and Mokka-e will soon receive an update with a larger battery and more range (up to 400 kilometers). It has already been announced for DS 3 and Peugeot e-208.
