There are so many Bentley owners in the Netherlands and this model is the most popular
Bentley has long been known for its high-priced luxury cars. The cars are not for everyone, as becomes clear when we see how few of them are on the road in the Netherlands.
We browse the license plate register to find out how many Bentley owners there are in the Netherlands and which model is the most common.
Number of Bentleys in the Netherlands
Currently, only 2,710 Bentleys are driving in our country. Compare that to the 8.9 million cars that adorn the Dutch road network, according to Dutch statistics, and you can say that only one in 3,284 cars bears a Bentley badge.
Bentleys exude class and are generally not as flashy as, say, Lamborghinis. So it’s no wonder that more than half of all Dutch Bentleys are black or gray in color. Nice and subdued.
The most popular model
What’s more notable is that the Bentayga isn’t the most widely available model. This is the SUV that the British car manufacturer has had in its range since 2016. It surprises us because other (sports car) brands, especially SUVs, are also shooting through the roof.
For example, the Urus is the most popular model at Lamborghini, even though the super SUV has only been on the market since 2018. However, there are only 303 Bentaygas on the road in the Netherlands, which still makes it the second most popular Bentley. The most common model is (still) the Continental, of which no fewer than 1,448 examples are registered in our country.
Bentley Bentayga new price
Of course there is an explanation for this. The Continental GT has been on the market since the beginning of this century and can now be described as an icon of the Bentley series. The figures show that 569 Continental GTs were registered between 2000 and 2010, followed by 524 in the following decade. The question is how long it will take for the Bentayga to pass the Continental. The cheapest new Bentayga will cost you more than 200,000 euros today, but you can also buy a Land Rover for that!
