Why this Lamborghini Aventador has glitter in the paint

Why this Lamborghini Aventador has glitter in the paint

It’s hard to tell from the photos, but this Lamborghini Aventador has glitter in the paint like it was meant for Ken and Barbie. Why? Because this is the very last Aventador ever and its buyer wanted an ode to the unique Lamborghini Miura Roadster.

Lamborghini had already built the last Aventador a few months ago, but then something unexpected happened. A freighter carrying thousands of cars caught fire in the Atlantic. They are all at the bottom of the sea now: Volkswagens, Porsches, Bentleys and Lamborghinis.

The Lamborghini Aventador production line has resumed

In Sant’Agata Bolognese, where the Lamborghini factory is located, the Aventador production line had to be restarted after the disaster. Because on the car transporter were notably Ultimae editions of the Aventador, the last of the latter.

This car will not have been there because it is not going to America, but to a customer in Switzerland.

Lamborghini Miura P400 Roadster from 1968

It is inspired by the Miura P400 Roadster, a unique Bertone show car that debuted at the 1968 Brussels Motor Show. The Italian design house didn’t simply remove the roof from the Miura; the roadster differs in a few points, among other things to ensure sufficient torsional rigidity.

To make the concept car even more eye-catching, it was painted in a sparkling color: Lamè Sky Blue Acrilico. Light blue with glitter inside. The public and press loved the Miura P400 Roadster, but the car never went into production. Bertone sold the prototype to the International Lead and Zinch Research Organization (ILZRO).

Advertising object for anti-rust treatments

There the Lamborghini was repainted in dark green and got a brown interior. It was galvanized, given the name ZN75, and sold around the world as an advertisement for anti-corrosion treatments.

The Miura was only restored in 2008 and restored to its original condition with glitter paint.

Successor Lamborghini Aventador with hybrid technology

Now that the last Aventador Ultimae has been delivered to its owner, we have to wait for its successor. It retains its traditional V12 but is boosted to 1050 hp with hybrid technology. We write “traditional”, but the block is a completely new development, but – like its predecessor – is 6.5 liters in size.
