The future Nissan Micra as a hot hatch!

Nissan shows a new concept called 20-23. The study model hints at a harbinger of the future electric Micra.

From now on, Nissan will only introduce electric vehicles in Europe. This means that the successor to the Micra is also fully electric.

Nissan Micra Hot Hatch

To say that this 20-23 concept is the Micra of the future is perhaps going a bit far. The hot hatch in the photo is an extreme electric vehicle with many unrealistic design features.

For example, there are only LED strips and no usual headlights, the front is very aggressive and at the rear there is a spoiler and a huge diffuser.

Interior 20-23 concept

The interior of the 20-23 Concept is at least as extravagant as its appearance. In the interior you will find a kind of yoke steering wheel that is purely aimed at sportiness.

What’s noticeable is that there isn’t even any infotainment in the interior. Like the rest of the car, it is still a typical concept car.

Brother of the Renault 5?

If you ignore all the notable design extravagances, you might know what a future Micra will look like. The model actually looks like a Renault 5 that was visited by a slightly overenthusiastic tuner. The new Micra is said to look very similar to its French colleague. Nissan has already confirmed that the Micra will have a successor.

If the Nissan Micra is the same car as the Renault 5, it means that the car is also on the CMF-B EV platform.

Series Nissan Micra

The successor to the Nissan Micra is scheduled to come onto the market in 2026. Production of the Renault 5 will begin in Palencia, Spain, in spring 2024. So the Micra will be much later.
