Gasoline is not more expensive!
The House of Representatives voted not to increase fuel excise taxes. This means that gasoline will not become more expensive next year.
When war broke out in Ukraine and prices at the pump rose sharply, the government intervened by cutting excise taxes. On July 1st, part of this “discount” expired. The second part would be restored on January 1, 2024.
After all, gasoline is not more expensive
So this is currently not the case. Fuel taxes will not increase. A majority of the House of Representatives has approved the VVD proposal and gasoline will therefore not become more expensive. An increase in excise taxes would mean you would have to spend about 20 cents more per liter.
The costs associated with maintaining the reduction in consumption taxes are covered by various sources.
