The upcoming BMW M3 will have so much power
An in-line six-cylinder and rear-wheel drive, that’s what a BMW M3 has to be. But every enthusiast knows that there will come a time when M3s will no longer be manufactured in this form. Frank Weber, BMW management, predicts the future of the M3 in an interview with CarSales magazine.
Please note that the figures in this article have not been confirmed by BMW.
Before we talk about the future of the M3, let’s take a quick look back. Because an M3 didn’t always have a six-cylinder. In fact, the first generation of the M3 (E30) had a four-cylinder engine under the hood. The E92 generation got a V8.
The extreme power of the electric BMW M3
In the future there will no longer be a petrol engine in an M3 and the model will be fully electric.
The new M3 would be built based on the Neue Klasse platform that we showed at the beginning of September. According to Weber, the platform is designed for four independently operating engines that together produce up to 1000 kW. This means the performance of the new BMW M3 Neue Klasse is potentially 1,341 hp!
Weber says that in the future, customers will miss the sound of the BMW M3, but they won’t have to worry about the driving behavior.
