Renault says goodbye to the MPV! Scenic is now also an SUV
MPVs are “sooo 2001”. That’s why Renault completely dispenses with the body shape and turns the models into SUVs because they are popular. After the Espace, the Renault Scenic is no longer a “multipurpose vehicle”.
Renault already showed the concept model of the new Scenic in 2022. This study model is almost identical to the final production model.
The new Renault Scenic
Renault puts the term “E-Tech Electric” behind “Renault Scenic”. This simply means that the model is equipped with an all-electric powertrain. There are two variants to choose from.
A standard range with a 170 hp electric motor on the front axle coupled to a 60 kWh battery that will take you 420 kilometers and a high range as a 220 hp front-wheel drive with a 87 kWh battery and a range of 620 kilometers.
Same platform as the Megane E-Tech Electric
The new Renault Scenic is based on the Megane E-Tech Electric platform and is also very similar in design to its little brother. The Scenic is significantly longer, no less than 27 centimeters. It is even 7 centimeters longer than its predecessor, the Scenic.
The extra length allows for a little more luggage space. With 545 liters you can take 12 liters more things with you.
The interior is similar to what we know from the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric. For example, the dashboard merges into the clock panel, the infotainment system runs on Android Automotive and the steering wheel and interior design are almost identical.
If you want to test drive the new Renault Scenic, you don’t have to wait long. The market launch is planned for early 2024.
