Aston Martin Valor is a bold departure from the V12
Aston Martin also has to think about its CO2 emissions, so the brand’s famous V12 will be phased out in the not too distant future. The epic muscle man not only gets a handshake and a voucher from Mediamarkt, but also a real farewell edition, the Aston Martin Valour.
Apparently a brave undertaking, because the newcomer is called Valour. Aston Martin speaks only veiled about the disappearance of its twelve-cylinder. The official reason for the Valor is Aston Martin’s 100th anniversary.
Aston Martin Valor in an edition of one hundred and ten pieces
It will be built in a limited run of 110 and is inspired by the 1980’s V8 Vantage and the 1980 RHAM/1 race car. Autovisie readers will of course immediately recognize the design cues of the one-of-a-kind 2020 Aston Martin Victor.
Twin-turbo twelve-cylinder coupled with manual gearbox
What is remarkable about the Valor is that it combines a 715 hp and 753 Nm biturbo V12 with a manual six-speed gearbox that was specially developed for the model. The drive forces are transmitted to the 21-inch rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.
The first Valours will be delivered to customers at the end of this year
The body of the Valor is made of carbon fiber. Braking is done at the front and rear with carbon-ceramic discs. The first Valours will be delivered to customers at the end of this year.
Aston Martin calls the special edition a “collectible that wants to be driven”. Let’s hope the one hundred and ten wealthy enthusiasts who bought one do the same.
