With these 5 tricks you will get your driver’s license faster
Practice driving, memorize the rules and signs and keep your nerves under control. This is all important if you want to get your driver’s license. However, there are tricks you can use to increase your chances.
The insurance company FBTO has examined the numbers of the CBR and the success rate of driving schools. And as it turns out, these five tips will make you (somewhat) more likely to pass your driving test.
These five tricks will help you get your driver’s license faster
1. Choose a driving school in Stichtse Vecht
You may have never heard of the municipality of Stichtse Vecht. However, at the driving schools in the municipality of Utrecht, most of the candidates passed (between October 2020 and September 2021). The success rate including the repeat tests at the driving schools in the community is 68.9 percent. The national average is 52.5 percent.
The success rate for your driving license is also very high in the driving schools in the municipality of Hellendoorn (65.2 percent) and Eersel (64.8 percent). In Maassluis (35.8 percent), Capelle aan den IJssel (35.9 percent) and Schiedam (36.5 percent) the chances of success in a local driving school are relatively low.
2nd exit Maastricht
There are big differences in the pass rates between the 54 CBR exam centers in the Netherlands. The candidates in the municipality of Maastricht were the most successful. 64.1 percent of the students passed it. The success rate is also high in Assen (62.4 percent) and Stein (61.8 percent).
3. Get your driver’s license around 9am and 10am
Verkeerspro research from 2014 and 2015 shows that the best time to set off is in the morning. By 9 or 10 a.m., more than 52 percent of the candidates passed. That’s more than the average success rate. At the time, it was 49.6 percent. It is not known whether this will also be the case in 2022. According to the FBTO, the CBR does not have this information.
4. Apply for your driver’s license during the Christmas or May holidays
The figures from October 2014 to December 2019 show that the Christmas and May holidays are the best times to take a driving test. More people succeed at week 52 and week 1. However, these are minor differences. At week 1 2.0 percent and week 52 2.4 percent more compared to the average.
5. Choose a driving school that was founded in the 1980s
Driving schools that were established in the 1980s have the highest success rates in relative terms. Candidates are successful from the time at driving schools Back to the Future 11.7 percent more frequently than the national average. The success rate of young driving schools founded after 2010 is 5.6 percent below the average.
Disclaimer: Don’t assume that if you follow all of the tips above, you’ll find success just like that. You still have to prove on the asphalt that you deserve a driver’s license. But don’t be afraid in the Netherlands: you live in the country where getting a driver’s license is the least stressful:
