Lots of battery and lots of luxury for your euro: That’s the Zeekr 001
More news from Zeekr, the new Chinese brand on the Dutch market. Today we took a closer look at the Zeekr X, now we introduce you to the second model: the 001.
If you think, “I’ve seen that car before,” your memory won’t disappoint. The 001 was once a concept model by Lynk & Co. A saloon version racing car was even made. Although this petrol car under the skin had nothing to do with the concept car.
The Zeekr 001 has a 100 kWh battery
Brand new in the Netherlands, the Zeekr 001 is an all-electric car and its direct competitors are cars like the Nio ET5, the BMW i4 and the Hyundai Ioniq 6. However, with a length of 4.96 meters, the newcomer is longer than these competitors. In addition, the range of 620 kilometers, due to a large 100 kWh battery, is more than that of the competitors mentioned.
powertrains
The performance of the entry-level model is 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque. This version features the same electric motor as its smaller brother, the X. However, the 001 is based on parent manufacturer Geely’s SEA1 platform and the X is based on the SEA2 architecture. The SEA2 platform is designed for smaller models.
Back to the 001. The slip-on sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h. If you want more power, you can opt for the all-wheel drive versions. The two fast versions (Performance and Privilege) always deliver 544 hp and 686 Nm of torque. The zero to one hundred sprint takes just 3.8 seconds.
The Privilege is more focused on comfort and has an adaptive chassis with air suspension. With the Performance you get 590 kilometers according to the WLTP measurement method, with the Privilege you are there after 580 kilometers with an empty battery.
Light draw weight
A big advantage of the AWD versions is the trailer weight. Both are allowed to pull 2,000 kilograms. The RWD can also pull a lot with 1,500 kilos.
Price 001 Zeekr in the Netherlands
The Zeekr 001 is marketed as a luxury car. For example, a heated first and second row of seats are standard and you have both a clock panel and a huge head-up display. So it’s not a cheap Chinese car, but the 001 offers plenty of battery and luxury for the money.
The entry-level model costs 60,490 euros, the Performance is 63,490 euros and the Privilege is 5 grand more expensive. The first 001 will be delivered in the Netherlands between October and December this year.
