After the introduction of the second generation of the BMW 7 Series, the German car manufacturer launched the ultimate top model. It was called 750i and had a 5.0 liter V12 engine. But do you know that BMW hadn’t planned a V12 variant for the e32 at all?
As you may have heard in Sjoerd’s Facts 352, BMW developed a V12 engine for the first generation of the 7 Series. The block consisted of two six-cylinder engines, which essentially came from the 323i. However, the cast-iron powerplant did not reach the production stage.
No V12 was planned for the BMW 7 Series E32
Although BMW announced the V12 engine in the 7 series, the engine disappeared from the scene. How different it was with a V12 engine for the second generation of the 7 Series. The Germans had not planned a V12 drive for the new sedan at all.
