You’ll never guess which car it is! Tip: No Renault Clio

You read that right, this car is not a Renault Clio. At least if you look at the brand plaque and nameplates. Under the skin (and above the skin) this Mitsubishi Colt is identical to the new Clio.

However, we cannot simply refer to the video and article of the revised Clio. The Colt has a few different features than the Clio.

And we’re not talking about the logos here. In the Netherlands, the Clio is not available with a 65hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder. This engine block is mentioned in the Colt’s Dutch press release. So it seems that the small three-cylinder is coming to the Netherlands. Autovisie is still waiting for a reply from the importer.

There’s also the 1.0-liter three-cylinder with turbo and 90 hp. You know that from the Clio. We also already know the 1.6-liter four-cylinder with hybrid technology and 145 hp from its French DNA clone. Although a clone, the nose is designed very differently. We better call the Colt the twin brother.

It is noticeable that the Mitsubishi Colt has better warranty conditions compared to the Renault Clio. Depending on the model, Renault offers a two-year full manufacturer’s warranty with no mileage limit or a three-year full manufacturer’s warranty with a maximum of 150,000 km. (with no mileage limit for the first 2 years). The Mitsubishi Colt has a manufacturer’s warranty of 5 years or 100,000 kilometers. So if you don’t drive much, a Colt might be a smarter choice

When can you order the Mitsubishi Colt?

How smart this choice actually is, that should save the price for the most part. Neither the Clio nor the Colt have a price yet. Sales of the Japanese French will start in October 2023. The Clio will be available from September. Both models are built in Bursa, Turkey.
